コリントの信徒への手紙Ⅰ ３章１０節～１７節
パウロは自らの伝道の働きを建築家に譬えて「土台を据えました」と述べています。この土台とはイエス・キリストのことです。パウロはコリントにおいて、十字架の主イエス・キリストを宣べ伝えることに専念し、教会の土台を据えました。パウロがコリントを去った後、アポロやケファによって、その働きが継承されましたが、教会の中に「わたしはパウロにつく」「わたしはアポロに」「わたしはケファに」という分争が生じました。そのことに心を痛めたパウロは、この手紙で、教会の土台はただ一つであり、だれもイエス・キリスト以外の土台を据えることはできないことを強調し、キリストにあって一つとなり、共に「キリストの体」である教会を形成すべきことを勧めたのです。教会は多様な人々の集まりですが、主にあって一つなのです。激しく揺れ動く今日の時代の中で、私たちはどこに立っているのか、問われていように思います。一人一人、イエス・キリストの土台の上にしっかりと立ち、共に活ける主の住みたもう「神の神殿」を築いていきたいと願います。
